University of Chicago Medicine partners with HUB for its latest expansion

University of Chicago Medicine partners with HUB

HUB Parking Technology recently installed a brand new DATAPARK system at the Center for Care & Discovery Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The medical center doubles as the heart of the University of Chicago Medicine’s campus and is a state-of-the-art hospital with 25,385 admissions and 492,078 ambulatory visits in 2014. It offers a full range of specialty and primary care services for adults and children with a focus on cancer, digestive diseases, neurosciences, advanced surgery and high-tech medical imaging.

Such a number of patients, daily visits and admissions requires a parking lot that is able to withstand high traffic levels, grant reliability, perform with no down time and most importantly, provide ease of use for its customers. Flawless throughput is fundamental to deliver the level of customer satisfaction required by a Medical Center of this caliber. The University of Chicago Medicine found, in HUB Parking Technology, an accountable partner that has been able to customize its peripherals to meet the needs of this specific type of installation.

The parking lot, already fully operational, has a total of 1,721 spaces and has been built for the newest wing of the hospital complex. The system is composed of 3 Entry Lanes, 3 Exit Lanes, 5 Automated Pay Stations and a Fee Computer for the public lots (floors 2 to 6) plus 2 Entry Lanes and 2 Exit Lanes accessed by proximity cards (floors 7 and 8) for the nested area reserved for hospital employees. Customers parking lots have a counting system installed which automatically displays, by each entrance, the available spaces on the different floors of the garage to further reduce the time needed to find a parking stall.
