Ingenico Secures €150 Million Investment to Support Product Innovation and Global Growth

Ingenico has reached an agreement to reshape its capital structure through a €150 million investment led by PIMCO and a group of international investors. The new funding will be directed towards accelerating product development, strengthening customer support and supporting the company’s next phase of growth.

Under recently appointed CEO Floris de Kort, Ingenico is placing greater emphasis on next-generation payment acceptance technology, particularly cloud-based platforms designed to simplify payment operations for customers and partners. The company says the strengthened balance sheet will provide additional flexibility to invest in these strategic priorities.

A key area of development will be Ingenico’s AXIUM portfolio of Android-based payment devices. The platform is built around a common architecture and is designed to support secure payment acceptance, integrated payment flows and future software upgrades across a range of environments.

Ingenico is also continuing to expand Ingenico 360, its cloud platform combining device management, transaction services, applications and analytics. Alongside the platform, the company is developing its tools and APIs for software partners and independent software vendors, with the aim of making the development and deployment of new payment services more efficient.

Part of the €150 million investment will also be used to strengthen Ingenico’s customer-facing organisation and international presence. New locations in London, San Francisco and Istanbul are expected to bring account management, technical expertise and customer support closer to partners in important markets.
