SIRAM Counter City Traffic allows predicting congestion and blockages at roundabouts and intersections in the city of Valencia through video analysis.

Urban traffic congestion is a big issue for cities, not only in terms of time lost by drivers, but also in terms of controlling CO2 emissions, and noise pollution. Large cities have already begun to take measures based on intelligent traffic management, as is the case of Valencia (Spain), which has relied on our SIRAM Counter City Traffic technology for the intelligent management of its streets and roundabouts through video analysis.

One of the main issues in Valencia’s City Council project is the congestion of the roundabouts leading to the city, where a high concentration of vehicles and high CO2 emissions are detected. For this reason our technical experts designed a solution installing our video analytics software over the existing traffic management cameras. This smart installation allows knowing the traffic density through SIRAM Counter City Traffic, evaluating the evolution of traffic in real time and anticipating the blocking of the roundabout more than 10 minutes before it occurs. The complete access to enhanced analytics and the design of customized rules, grants to implement automated preventive measures to be applied in real time to avoid such severe traffic blockages, since reactive measures do not prevent the blockage and may require a long time to resolve.

Thanks to SIRAM Counter City Traffic technology based on deep learning, it is possible to have a system with artificial intelligence that allows to make predictions and forecasts for optimal traffic modeling. The technological adaptation is dynamic and adjusts to the real traffic situation, allowing a correct flow and a reduction in accidents, traffic jams and CO2 emissions. Our technology provides key information on the current situation in real time of each roundabout and its surroundings to be able to make decisions in advance.
