Intertraffic Amsterdam Presents Its Largest Edition Ever - Smart. Safe. Sustainable
Intertraffic Amsterdam stands as the premier global event for business and government professionals in mobility and traffic technology. Since its launch in 1972, Intertraffic has been spotting trends, introducing new technologies, and unveiling groundbreaking innovations, along with numerous initiatives, best practices, emerging participants, key partnerships, and joint ventures.
The 2026 edition promises to surpass all previous ones, featuring over 900 public and private exhibitors across 12 halls. Highlights include 300+ knowledge sessions, demos and workshops within the Intertraffic Summit Programme, held in three major theatres and four open stages on the show floor. 30,000 professionals and cities & regions delegates from roughly 140 countries are expected to attend, offering exceptional learning and networking opportunities. Intertraffic Amsterdam will take place from 10-13 March 2026 at RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The vast 12 halls of RAI Amsterdam will be filled to the brim with solution providers for the full spectrum of the mobility ecosystem. All major players in the field of mobility and traffic technology are represented, originating from 55+ countries. Next Mobility, Intertraffic’s latest feature (hall 11), focuses on innovative and alternative transportation methods and solutions, highlighting micromobility, EV & Charging, mobility hubs, last-mile delivery, and urban air solutions.

Most Extensive Summit Programme to Date
The 2026 Intertraffic edition marks the most extensive Summit Programme to date, showcasing cutting-edge innovations in infrastructure, traffic equipment, mobility, communication, and data technologies. The sessions are geared toward improving traffic flow, boosting road safety, advancing sustainability, and enhancing liveability in and around cities, all while creating smoother multimodal mobility services for travellers.
New for 2026 are four thematic open stages across the show floor:
- Road Infra Stage in Hall 7 – in partnership with Global Highways
- Road Safety Stage in Hall 9 – in partnership with International Road Federation
- Parking Stage in Hall 12 – in partnership with Parking Network
- Next Mobility Stage in Hall 11
In Hall 5, the three impressive Summit theatres and a spacious networking area offer an ideal setting to connect with speakers and peers. The programme features a dynamic mix of pitches, interactive sessions, panel discussions, workshops and debates focused on tackling persistent challenges such as congestion, road safety, climate impact and infrastructure strain.

This year’s sessions dive deep into the most pressing mobility issues: rising road fatalities, climate pressures, major reconstruction and road maintenance challenges, and growing congestion in and around urban areas. They also address the sector’s rapid digitalization and data sharing, automation and electrification, the need for accurate real-time traffic and travel data, and the push for interoperable mobility solutions that enable seamless end-to-end journeys. Valuable links are also being made between parking and traffic management, traffic management and urban air mobility, parking, public transport and shared mobility, as well as between parking and charging, cycling and ITS technology.
Special attention is given to content designed for road and transport operators, city policymakers, technology vendors and mobility service providers, ensuring each group finds concrete insights and actionable solutions tailored to their needs.
Guiding Tomorrow’s Traveller: The Digital Shift in Traffic Management
To accommodate the increasingly digital traveller, traffic management and information services are also undergoing a profound digital transformation. Technologies that enhance traffic flow and provide smart, safe, and sustainable guidance are at the core of our Summit programme, including in-car real-time traffic information safety-related services. Sessions will address topics such as Traffic and Road Safety Analytics powered by agentic AI from Tomtom, AI in Motion: Real-World Solutions Driving Urban Mobility from ST Engineering, smart tolling systems, and flexible solutions for accident hotspots from Vitronic. We will also explore the evolving role of the road operator in a digitalized world in a CEDR session, discuss who truly guides the road user – the road authority or the navigation app with Tripservice and Waze and dive into innovative approaches to smart procurement, including insights from Yunex. Complemented by hot topics like new enforcement and camera detection systems, software for Intelligent Traffic Light Controllers, Digital twin Technology as a Strategy for Optimizing Traffic Signal Operation and real-time condition sensing from leading organisations including Econolite, Haskoning and Be-Mobile. These technologies provide practical support for city policymakers and road operators, helping them keep traffic moving, maintain urban accessibility, and ensure safety for all road users.
Realising Large-Scale ITS and Automated Driving Deployment
The Summit explores the latest innovations in ITS and automated driving, with a strong focus on real-world deployment and lessons learned. Sessions cover C-ITS and connected infrastructure, digital services for drivers, and data-driven solutions for automated and connected vehicles. Attendees will gain insights from European ITS projects and mobility data platforms, including TISGRADE, Data for Road Safety, and in-car traffic management using C-ITS, as well as smart data services from Haas Alert, TomTom, and Be-Mobile. Experts from Kapsch, Haskoning, and Monotch will highlight connected mobility, digital infrastructure, interoperability, and standards. Key panels and discussions include topics like Global Ambitions, Real Results: The State of Autonomous Vehicle Deployment, Driver Shortages vs. Driverless Solutions: Can CAVs Close the Gap? Integrating CAVs into the Public Transport Chain, AI in Connected and Automated Mobility: Curse or Blessing? And Ensuring User Acceptance for Connected Automated Vehicles.
Modern and Future-Proof Road Asset Management
Attendees will explore innovative solutions for modern road asset management, safe and climate-resilient. Topics include contraflow management systems from Dynaroads and skid resistance planning strategies for local authorities aimed at saving lives. The programme also covers road innovations and noise protection barriers, as well as evolving crash barrier standards designed for tomorrow’s mobility types. Special sessions include a panel on Paving the Way for Connected Automated Mobility: Transforming Public Space for Automated Mobility, and a discussion on Future Roads Funding: Best Practices in Mobility Pricing. Attendees will also gain insights into research-driven AI applications for sustainable urban mobility in the session Smarter Roads, Smarter Cities.

Integration, Traveller Convenience and Free-Flow Parking
This edition of the Summit programme places a strong emphasis on parking, exploring current trends and key challenges. In the Summit theatres, we host a dedicated summit from the European Parking Association, focusing on the integration of parking and traffic management, as well as AI in mobility and parking. The Open Stage programme, put together with our partner Parking Network, features presentations and panel discussions from leading organisations including Survision, ARRIVE, Billogram, INDECT, Amano, Arvoo, Skidata, and Circontrol. Topics covered range from smart parking enforcement, traveller convenience, and free-flow parking to data insights for operators, innovative payment systems, integrated parking platforms, and smart kerbside management strategies. Highlights include the transformative potential of dynamic license plate data for parking enforcement, human-centered parking solutions, and leveraging parking data to improve user experiences and generate revenue. Other key themes address smart tariffs, payment infrastructure, and the role of urban mobility hubs for off-street parking, demonstrating how smart parking solutions contribute to more efficient and accessible cities and become an essential part of the mobility ecosystem.
Data-Driven Road Safety Strategies and Enhancing Safety for Vulnerable Road Users
When it comes to improving road safety attendees will discover smart data services aimed at enhancing road safety, AI or data-driven solutions, digital twinning, intelligent enforcement, monitoring and detection systems, and intersection safety improvements. The programme highlights smart mobility applications that warn road users, advanced asset management, and cutting-edge sensor technologies from leading providers such as Acusensus, Eyyes, Miovision, IDEMIA, Roadscor, Kistler, and Parifex. Special focus is given to work zone safety, with workshops from CEDR and the International Road Federation on effective work zone management, best practices for safety assets, and road safety audits. Additional sessions cover AI-based warning systems to protect road workers, advanced traffic enforcement, global programmes driving sustainable behaviour change, and the use of ITS and predictive analytics to automate road safety decisions.
Future-Proof Mobility and Stimulating Active Travel
The Next Mobility Stage sessions focus on sustainable urban mobility, multimodal travelling and seamless mobility services, with particular emphasis on active mobility, data-driven platforms, and building digital infrastructures for MaaS, parking and charging. The programme also highlights sustainable and inclusive mobility, public-private frameworks for achieving sustainability goals, and lessons learned from micromobility pilots and mobility hubs. Visitors can participate in workshops and panel discussions on cycling and transit solutions, bicycle-focused infrastructure, and strategies to promote active travel and micromobility. Contributors include the Dutch Cycling Embassy, PTV, Haskoning, and various micromobility providers, who share trends, developments, and real-world examples to accelerate the sustainable mobility transition for cities worldwide. Practical examples of seamless mobility services, focusing on interoperability and user-friendly design are also showcased. Key sessions include a panel on Urban Logistics: Challenges and Solutions, a discussion on Redefining Last-Mile Delivery with Combined Ground and Drone Solutions, and a special Urban Air Mobility Day on Thursday, 12 March.
Joint Public-Private Presentation of Dutch Innovation
A Dutch collective of public and private parties will showcase what makes the Netherlands one of the European frontrunners when it comes to public-private collaboration, (real-time) traffic management, and modal split. Over and above their presence in hall 2 and their contribution to the summit sessions, the dedicated knowledge programme Focus NL (Dutch language) is an initiative of Connekt/ITS Netherlands, Platform WOW, kennisplatform CROW, Amsterdam Metropolitan Region, Mobiliteitsalliantie, aimed at Dutch road authorities and policy makers from cities and regions is staged on Friday 13th March themed “Werken aan toekomstbestendige mobiliteit in Nederland” (“Working Towards Future-Proof Mobility in the Netherlands”).

Intertraffic Awards
The Intertraffic Awards are presented during the opening ceremony of Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026. Entries compete in the following categories:
- Intertraffic Green Globe Award - This award recognises solutions, products and working practices that are helping to create a sustainable transport system for the future.
- Intertraffic User Experience Award - This award will showcase the transport systems that break new ground in the way they seamlessly interface with their human operators.
- Intertraffic Inspiration Award - This award recognises companies who have developed essential solutions while pushing innovation to the next level.
- Intertraffic Startup Award – this award premieres in 2026, all participating startups in ITSUP are automatically entered for the competition. The award will be given to a startup that demonstrates strong innovation and impact, especially in improving mobility, safety, or sustainability.
An international jury of industry specialists selects a shortlist of nominees, to be announced at the end of January 2026.
