JFK Park EV Fast-Charging Hub Breaks Ground Near New York’s JFK Airport

The Project Forms Part of New York City’s Wider Efforts to Expand Clean Transportation Infrastructure.

Construction has started on JFK Park, a major electric vehicle fast-charging hub being developed next to John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York.

The 2.6-acre site in Springfield Gardens is being developed by Wildflower Ltd through Wildflower JFK North LLC, with Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging set to operate the charging facility once it opens.

JFK Park will initially feature 38 DC fast-charging points available around the clock. Each charging position will be capable of delivering up to 400 kW and will support both NACS and CCS connectors, allowing drivers of different EV brands to use the facility without an adapter.

Its location places the charging hub close to one of the region’s busiest passenger, cargo and logistics areas. The site is positioned near JFK Airport and provides connections to the Van Wyck Expressway and Belt Parkway via the Nassau Expressway and Rockaway Boulevard. This accessibility is expected to make the facility relevant to a range of users, including private EV drivers, for-hire vehicles and commercial fleets travelling through the airport area and Southeast Queens.

Wildflower was selected by the New York City Economic Development Corporation in March 2024 to redevelop the city-owned property through the JFK North RFP process. The necessary property disposition approvals followed in 2025 before the developer completed its acquisition of the site later that year.

The project forms part of New York City’s wider efforts to expand clean transportation infrastructure. Construction is now underway, with JFK Park expected to be completed and operational in late fall 2027.
