Kathrein RFID launched a new long range RFID Reader Generation
Unique options in connectivity save infrastructure cost dramatically

Kathrein RFID, leading manufacturers of RFID identification systems, recently launched a new generation of RFID readers: the ARU3000 and the RRU4000 series. The readers allow for fast vehicle identification, provide different options in connectivity into the Backend System, and can connect using PoE+, WiFi, Bluetooth and 2G/3G mobile interface.
The readers can also connect to additional sensors like LNPR cameras through the Ethernet Switch. Main development target was to reduce installation and infrastructure costs by using the site specific and cost effective way of connectivity.
This new generation of RFID readers is ideal for intelligent parking and car sharing solutions such as Car2Go, DriveNow, ParkNow and evopark allowing customers to access these services easily and seamlessly. The readers integrated Linux Operating System allows an easy Software based integration into existing parking infrastructure solutions like Skidata and other Systems,
In addition to parking, the RFID readers by Kathrein are known to significantly boost the safety and efficiency of traffic and freight management. Based on the fully integration of NXP Ucode DNA Security Transponder Chipset, this solution can be used also for tolling plazas, free flow access as well as with a barrier/gate solution.
Like all Kathrein RFID solutions, the ARU3000 and the RRU4000 are cost-effective and fulfill all future smart city requirements. By implementing these solutions, cities and operators can save on infrastructure costs.
