Magnetic's new barrier gate set to cut costs

A new barrier gate concept from Magnetic Autocontrol points the way ahead for this market segment. Thomas Braunwalder, chief operations officer Magnetic Autocontrol Group said: "This is our new barrier concept and it shows how barriers will be in the near future. It has new technology inside and is a revolution in the parking industry."
According to Braunwalder, the barrier features the Magnetic, high torque motor (MHTM).

Braunwalder explained: "This motor is successfully used in pedestrian gates and an industry benchmark so we"d thought we"d integrate it into this barrier."

He said that this new barrier concept would provide customers with a long term solution that would cut maintenance costs to virtually zero compared with conventional products.

For the moment, this is a design concept and Magnetic Autocontrol is not announcing a launch date for the product. However, the company expects to have the production version ready for the market in the near future. When it is ready for market it will offer long term performance in comparison with parking barriers available at present. Braunwalder said: "As a standard we guarantee our existing range of barriers to work for five million cycles and the new generation will be much more reliable and will increase the working life substantially."
