Metropolis: Announcing Our Series B

All of us at Metropolis spend our waking moments - and more than a few of our sleeping ones - considering how to make the journey remarkable: for our real estate partners, for our members, and for our employees. But it occurred to me recently what a remarkable journey Metropolis itself is proving to be.

Today, I am thrilled to announce that Metropolis has raised a $167 million Series B round led by 3L Capital and Assembly Ventures. The round also included participation from leading growth equity investors like Dragoneer Investment Group, Eldridge, Silver Lake Waterman, and UP Partners.

Since our Series A capitalization fifteen months ago, we have deployed the next generation of our advanced computer vision platform (powered by in-house machine learning systems that are years ahead of the competition), facilitated millions of remarkable journeys for our members (28x member growth since the Series A), and partnered with the country’s leading commercial real estate owners and managers (several of whom we’re proud to also count as investors).

What a journey it’s proving to be!

By bringing urban mobility infrastructure online, we are knitting disconnected parts of the everyday journey into a remarkable experience: one commute, one morning coffee, one grocery run at a time. Together, we have an unprecedented opportunity to reshape the way people experience their cities.

Metropolis delivers seamless, drive-in drive-out experiences for people on the go, creating new economic opportunities for the businesses serving them along their journeys. By connecting transportation, neighborhood commerce, and payments for the first time, we’re bringing the ease of digital transactions to the physical world.
