MIDDLESBOROUGH GOES ON STREET WITH METRIC

A unitary authority in the north east has signed up a contract for its on street parking machines for the next three years. Middlesborough has chosen Metric as its partner for all new S2 parking machines. The north east unitary authority has gone totally Metric for on street parking for the next three years.
metric.gifMiddlesborough is already in the installation of eight new Metric S2 solar powered machines for on street parking and says it will be placing further orders for pay and display over the three year agreement.

The borough council already has Metric S2 machines operating its 39 off-street car parks – most of which have already been networked through Metric’s ASLAN system.

The networking provides Middlesborough with up-to-date monitoring of machines without the need for an operator to make a daily check on ticketing issuing.
Said Steve Webster, the council’s group leader parking solutions: “Middlesborough first went with Metric 20 years’ ago and some of their original machines are still in operation in the town.

“That’s testimony to their reliability over a lot of years. But we have to move forward and the latest generation of Metric machines, the Accent S2, will provide pay and display for our off street car parks for a long time to come.

“We now have 39 S2’s operating off street car parks – 32 of which are already networked and the others will also be very soon.

“Metric has proved to be very reliable, which is why we have entered into a contract for the next three years”.
