MobileNOW! Brings Electric Vehicle Charging App to Santa Clara Valley Water District

MobileNOW!, a worldwide leader in mobile payment technology for parking, permitting and electric vehicle (EV) charging, is pleased to announce the addition of the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) to the growing list of employers and property managers using MobileNOW!’s pay-by-mobile system to distribute charge authorization codes to their EV driving employees and visitors.

“The District has supported green sustainable practices and has encouraged our employees to use electric vehicles by providing charging stations onsite for more than 10 years. It is an important part of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint,” says SCVWD Facilities Manager Michael Cresap. “We were looking for a solution to recover the costs of providing and maintaining our EV chargers that was flexible, convenient and affordable for both the employees and for The District. Based on Liberty PlugIns’ Synchronous Codes technology, SCVWD employees and visitors are able to purchase authorization codes for various lengths of charging time. After downloading the free MobileNOW! app and creating their account, the user simply enters the EV charger number, selects the amount of charging time desired and confirms the purchase. A unique 8 digit charging code is transmitted which the driver enters into the keypad installed on the charger which starts the charging session.
