Moline opens Midtowne Parking Facility

moline.jpgThe facility is located at 1601 – 6th Avenue, Moline. Free two hour parking is available on the ground level, while the second, third and fourth levels are reserved for leased parking. Currently, the reserved spaces are 64% rented, leaving 130 spaces still available for lease to local businesses.

The new parking facility was designed to compliment the City’s new Public Safety building currently under construction at 16th Street and 6th Avenue, and surrounding downtown buildings. A covered walkway connecting the parking facility to the 5th Avenue building was designed to provide convenience, safety and protection from inclement weather for employees and patrons of 5th Avenue businesses.

“The addition of the Midtowne Parking Facility helps resolve a long-term parking issue for downtown Moline,” said Lew Steinbrecher, City Administrator. “It was designed to accommodate both the current and future parking needs in the central businesses district, and will support growth of businesses along 5th Avenue and throughout the downtown.”
