Nashville Airport Moves Ahead with $900M Parking and Rental Car Facility

New six-level development at BNA will add 3,000 passenger parking spaces and capacity for 4,700 rental vehicles

Nashville International Airport (BNA) is advancing a major parking and ground transportation project as part of its wider New Horizon expansion program.

The airport has announced that Lot A will close on July 1, 2026, to allow construction of a new six-level parking garage and consolidated rental car facility. The development is planned next to the existing terminal garages, keeping the facility within walking distance of the terminal and avoiding the need for shuttle access for passengers using the new structure.

Once complete, the facility will provide 3,000 parking spaces for passengers and accommodate 4,700 rental vehicles. The project is designed to improve traffic flow, support rental car operations, and prepare the airport for continued passenger growth.

The program also includes a customer service building for rental car companies, quick-turnaround areas with fueling and car wash capabilities, and new roadway and bridge connections between Terminal Drive and the facility.

During construction, BNA’s terminal garages, valet parking, Economy Lot B, and Economy Lot C will remain available. The airport has said phased detours and traffic changes will be introduced as work progresses.

The parking and rental car facility is expected to be completed in 2029. It will open alongside BNA’s new ring road, which will expand the current one-mile, two-lane terminal road into a two-mile, six-lane loop.

The project forms part of BNA’s long-term strategy to increase capacity as the airport prepares for future growth, including plans to serve up to 40 million annual passengers and support the development of Terminal II.
