Avinor and HENT AS Sign Major Contract for New Bodø Airport

Avinor has signed a NOK 1.9 billion contract with HENT AS for the construction of the new Bodø Airport’s passenger terminal and key operational buildings. The agreement follows nearly a year of collaborative planning, resulting in optimized designs and cost-effective solutions.

The new airport is set to begin trial operations in late 2029, with the official opening expected by 2030. The terminal is designed to handle 2.3 million passengers annually. 

Construction is set to begin in early August, with completion and handover to Avinor expected in summer 2028. Operational testing will begin about 14 months later, followed by the official opening in 2029/2030. The total building area will be around 27,000 square meters.

This final contract milestone follows earlier agreements on airside infrastructure and marks a major step forward for one of Norway’s largest airport projects.
