NMI, the unified commerce enablement platform and BBPOS, the world’s leading innovator, designer, and manufacturer of mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) payment terminals, today announced that NMI has achieved TSYS, First Data, Worldpay, and Elavon certifications for the BBPOS Chipper 2X BT product line.

This gives NMI partners access to an affordable, easy-to-use, and ultra-compact mobile payment solution that is ideal for restaurants, delivery, transportation, home services, and line-busting applications. BBPOS Chipper 2X BT is immediately available to NMI partners and merchants, while additional processor certifications and BBPOS devices are scheduled for Q4 of 2020.

NMI welcomes the opportunity to extend our partnership with BBPOS who shares our passion for industry-leading technology, innovation, and security,” says Nick Starai, chief strategy officer at NMI. “Our partnership addresses the omnichannel complexities Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs), and merchants face on a daily basis by giving them cost-effective access to cutting-edge technology.

The Bluetooth-enabled Chipper 2X BT supports all magstripe, EMV payment, and contactless functions. A superior chip reading platform, with end-to-end data encryption technology, ensures safe and flexible payment options. Near-field communication (NFC) is also supported for contactless transactions, enabling merchants to accept new payment forms like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, VISA Paywave, MasterCard Contactless, AMEX ExpressPay, and Discover D-PAS.

BBPOS is extremely excited to partner with NMI to offer industry-leading solutions that simplify payments throughout the ecosystem, from ISOs to ISVs and ultimately to merchants,” says Chris Dismukes, chief revenue officer at BBPOS. “NMI’s Chipper 2X BT certification efforts open up new markets that have previously been underserved.

ISOs and ISVs can take advantage of NMI’s flexibility, global reach, and one-on-one support to extend Chipper capabilities through custom applications running on Android and iOS devices. NMI also provides partners with iProcess, a turnkey iOS and Android mobile application allowing Chipper devices to be deployed in the field and at the point of sale without any development or integration.
