A new residential and commercial building adorns the banks of river Enz, built in a modern and contemporary architecture

In 2013, nestled between the heritage–listed "Melanchton House" and the seniors’ residence “Ambiente”, a new building has been built in Pforzheim with 54 barrier-free residential units and commercial properties on a total area of 5,507 m².

The Pforzheim architects Zeitler have favoured Wöhr parking systems for the planning of the parking area and created 60 underground parking spaces with Parklift 440.

"We have been working together with Wöhr for several years now and appreciate among other things their support in the planning phase," says architect Karl W. Zeitler.

The garage regulation stipulates a total of 83 parking spaces, of which 23 conventional parking spaces for the adjacent Pforzheim adult education centre are available in the courtyard of the new “Arcadia House”. The other 60 parking places were realized with Wöhr Parklift 440.

All the parking spaces are horizontal and have 270 cm wide platforms. So the residents and employees of the “Arcadia House” can very comfortably use the parking places for cars with a height of up to 180 cm. One of the Parklift 440 with 1 parking space for the disabled has been realized taking into account their need for even wider parking spaces.

"Parking spaces for the disabled were not mandatory. But we also have assisted residences for the elderly in the “Arcadia House”. The whole building has been planned to focus on accessibility and therefore it was also important for us to provide parking spaces for the disabled", explained architect Karl W. Zeitler.

The Zeitler architects paid a lot of attention to a very high user-friendliness and implemented this, in creating a garage with a wide driving lane and bright lighting, as well as in choosing Parklift 440 Comforttype version.
