Smart Parking Now Available Throughout Downtown Scranton, PA

Pango’s Mobile Parking App Makes Paying for Parking Convenient and Easy

- Scranton, Pennsylvania, US

Pango Mobile Parking, a comprehensive parking payment and management solution, announced today that smart parking will now be available throughout downtown Scranton, PA. Pango’s Pay by Phone solution is accessible from any phone or mobile handset and is also a mobile app that can be downloaded from iPhone, BlackBerry, or android devices. Pango’s Pay by Phone solution provides city patrons an easier, more convenient way to pay for parking.

Drivers in Scranton can pay for parking at any on-street public parking metered space designated with a Pango sticker or at any block equipped with Pango street signs, without the hassle of using cash or carrying change. With Pango, drivers can now pay for the exact time they are parked.

To use Pango, mobile users can sign-up either on the Pango Web site free of charge or by downloading the mobile app. Once signed-up, users may pay for parking by either using the mobile app, calling toll free 1-877-myPango (1-877-697-2646) from any phone, or by texting 410-779-3311. Pango also provides monthly invoices and online services that enable parkers to view past parking activities and charges.

To celebrate the event today, Mayor Christopher A. Doherty is unveiling the solution at noon at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square at 235 N. Washington Avenue in Scranton, PA.

We decided to integrate Pango into the City of Scranton to make paying for parking easier and smarter for local drivers. Our meters will stay, but now Scranton parkers will have a convenient and seamless alternative,” said Mayor Doherty.

Pango will enable the City of Scranton to monitor all downtown parking activity online, save on capital expenditure for updating parking facilities, while making parking enforcement easier and more controllable.

Our goal is to provide residents throughout the U.S. with safer and more efficient means of paying for parking while benefiting the local municipalities and businesses in each area” says Dani Shavit, CEO of Pango Shyyny USA, the Pango licensee in PA, MD and Washington D.C. “Deploying Pango Mobile Parking benefits all three stakeholders at once – it is easier for drivers to pay for parking, allows municipalities to better manage city parking, and provides local merchants with a new avenue to engage customers.

In addition, Pango offers Scranton downtown merchants and local patrons the benefits of location-based advertising and promotions. When parking with Pango, users can view coupons and promotional offers that are available in the vicinity of the parking zone, making shopping locally easier for Scranton residents. Businesses also realize the benefits of increased brand awareness, customer loyalty, and heightened sales activity from location-based advertising through Pango.

For all Scranton parkers, Pango will provide 10 free hours of parking for every new Pango Mobile Parking registrant that will park with Pango throughout the city.
