Park New Haven Unveils New Valet Parking Option at Union Station

Parking at New Haven’s Union Station Just Got Easier with New Valet Parking Service

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Park New Haven, which maintains and manages over 8,000 public parking spots across seven garages and numerous surface facilities in Downtown New Haven, is pleased to announce the addition of a new Valet Parking service to customers at Union Station.

Among the benefits of the new Valet Parking Service will be the ability for customers who are traveling on Amtrak and Metro-North trains into New Haven to send a text message ahead of their arrival to the new “Rapid Return” line and have their vehicle waiting for them when they arrive.

The Valet Parking program was a joint effort between Park New Haven and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). The CTDOT owns Union Station, while Park New Haven maintains and operates the property.

“We are trying to put customer convenience and service first, and this is the kind of innovation that our customers are increasingly looking to us for,” said CTDOT Commissioner James P. Redeker. “Our goal is satisfied customers, and the availability of valet parking service, especially during a harsh New England winter, is something that many will welcome. I commend the entire team, including the New Haven Parking Authority, for a creative alternative we can offer commuters.”

The service will be operating Monday through Friday, 6:00am – 2:00am, conveniently located in front of the Union Station transportation center. The cost per parked car will be $20.00 for 24 hours.

“This was the right time to launch our new Valet Parking service, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer this to our loyal customers at Union Station,” said William Kilpatrick, Executive Director, Park New Haven. “This will not only be more convenient for our patrons traveling from Union Station, or those arriving late to the station, but it also will help to free up parking spots in our Union Station Garage during the work week and peak hours,” added Kilpatrick.
