72% increase in parkbytext™ registered users in 2014

2014 sees international growth and industry innovation for the company

parkbytext™, Ireland’s leading mobile parking operator, recorded a 72% increase in registered users in 2014, bringing the total amount of registered users to over 47,000 in Ireland alone. Total transactions throughout 2014 rose by 8% to over 320,000, 20% of these equate to pay-as-you-go customers.

parkbytext™ is a leading innovator within the mobile parking industry. Last July, parkbytext™ launched parkbytext™ 2Bill – their direct carrier billing service that enables customers to pay for their parking using their mobile phone bill or pay-as-you-go-credit. This is a European-first within the industry and is available to customers of Vodafone, O2 and Three in locations such as Heuston, Connolly and Kent train stations.

Parking by text has seen a 15% decrease from 2013 to 29% as customers switch to the parkbytext™ App which accounted for 29% of payments made. A further 29% of customers chose to pre-pay online; 5% through parkbytext™ 2Bill; 4% used the call centre (0818 444 999) and IVR - Interactive Voice Recognition.

parkbytext™ operates in over 300 car parks across Ireland, the UK and USA. In November parkbytext™ won the contract with Transdev to provide mobile parking payment in all Luas (light rail) Park + Ride locations (Dublin, Ireland). 2014 also seen parkbytext™ launch in 35 locations across downtown Houston Texas in partnership with Laz Parking, a major parking operator in the USA.
