Croydon switches to Parkeon for new Pay & Display solutions

Parkeon is installing 345 Strada parking payment terminals for Croydon Council as it starts to replace the Town's aging estate of 900+ Pay & Display (P&D) machines under a 5 + 1 year contract.

"Parkeon fulfilled all of our mandatory criteria in areas such as security, functionality, connectivity and compliance, within the most cost-effective framework", stated Clive Burley, Croydon's General Manager Infrastructure. "It also supports many of the advanced features with which we hope to enhance our parking operation in due course."

Desirable Parkeon features being considered for further terminals are a mobile phone service - with full integration and management of parking data and reports.

The modular design of the Strada makes it easy to upgrade existing terminals cost-effectively and increase the specification of additional machines within the same casing.

"Croydon's Parking Services Division is widely recognised both for innovation and the high quality service it provides, as is evidenced by the record number of British Parking Awards it has won", said Danny Hassett, Parkeon's Parking Director UK/Ireland. "We look forward to fulfilling this major contract from London's most-highly populated borough."

The terminals will be managed via Parkeon's web-accessed Parkfolio Easy centralisation programme. Whilst providing comprehensive financial, management and operational information, it can be operated by anyone with basic keyboard skills.

The majority of the Stradas will be solar-powered, with the balance replacing mains operated models, like-for-like.
