Home win for Parkeon

Poole-based Parkeon has won the contract to replace the towns existing mains operated Pay & Display (P&D) machines with 71 Strada Rapide parking terminals, all bar one of which will be
solar-powered.
They are being installed mainly to control on-street parking - including that in Sandbanks, the most exclusive residential coastal area in the UK as well as off-street at the Everyone Active Leisure Centre - Poole.
We are pleased to be using solar-powered technology to provide a sustainable and cost-effective service which will help towards the Councils target of reducing  carbon emissions by 25% by 2013, says Councillor Mike White, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transportation,
Borough of Poole.  Customers will benefit from more reliable pay machines with lower running and service costs.  We are delighted that this technology has been sourced from a local company.
The Stradas will be monitored via Parkeons Parkfolio centralised management system on a PC in the Councils offices.
This generates a warning or alarm whenever a machine requires attention and enables us to monitor parking activity in real-time.  This ensures that we optimise our parking revenues, whilst also providing a reliable service for drivers, explains Jason Benjamin, the Councils Parking Manager.

Poole has opted for the coin-only version of the Strada Rapide,
which has an easily exchangeable coin box designed to make the cash collection process a quick, safe and easy procedure. At the same time, the machines also offer unparalleled levels of security.
They will be finished in Parkeons exclusive metallic Titanium Grey.
