Lausanne innovates with adaptable parking management

Parkeon launched the first Swiss contactless parking meters in Lausanne. 125 terminals are already installed.

No PIN before 40 francs

These new models of parking meters offer 3 payment modes: cash, classic credit card or through contactless PayPass technology developed by Mastercard. No code is required for amounts less than 40 francs. "Beyond this limit, you must enter your PIN for security reasons" explained the spokesman of MasterCard Europe.

A pioneering model

140 “Strada” parking meters equipped with Paypass will manage 2500 parking spaces in the city. The capital of the Canton de Vaud is the first Swiss city to install this kind of terminal, but other cities could be interested. “We hope that the new parking meters in Lausanne will inspire other Swiss cities” said Erwan Bizien, Parkeon salesman.
