New York City Installs Its 6,000th Parkeon Pay Station
Parkeon, Inc, the world leader in multi-space parking solutions, announced that New York City has installed its 6,000th Parkeon pay station. The current installed base of multi-space meters in New York is by far the largest in the US to date.
In April 2010, New York released a bid for 4,500 multi-space meters.
After a competitive bid process and thorough testing procedures, Parkeon was awarded the contract to deploy its Strada Pay Station in
the Big Apple. The deployment of Stradas adds to the existing 4,500 DG Pay Stations that New York first began installing in the early 1990's.
"New York is our largest US customer, and one of our first," said
Kevin Woznicki, President of Parkeon's US operations. "They helped us build our business here and we are more than excited to be able to continue our long standing relationship with the City."
New York will continue to deploy Strada Pay Stations, referred to as Muni-Meters in the City, through 2012. Parkeon has customized the Strada specifically for New York with special display graphics, audio messaging, and enhanced security features. Parkeon's back-office system, myParkfolio has also been adapted for New York City's needs.
