Sucess in Poland: the City of Warszawa chose Parkeon's high technology solutions

After Lodz and Lublin, it is now the turn of the Polish capital to benefit of the ‘high-tech’ solutions of the world’s N°1 provider of parking space management solutions.

Faced with the lack of available parking spaces, the City of Warszawa needed to find the right partner to extend its paid parking zone with up to date parking management solutions. One of the main ambition of the city was to provide its motorists, the possibility to pay their parking fees easily and in any circumstance.

The city already manages more than 1,000 parking terminals from a local parking supplier through a local back-office. The challenge was to continue to use their own back-office while integrating new data.

How Parkeon helps the city of Warszawa solve its parking problems?

To address these difficulties, the Polish capital decided to break the tradition by choosing a new supplier and selected Parkeon's high technology solutions to implement an efficient centralized parking management system.

Together with its local partners, City Parking Group and Elavon, the credit card processor, Parkeon installed a large quantity of solar-powered parking terminals (240 Strada) offering bank payment. All the terminals accept Visa, MasterCard and also contactless PayWave and PayPass credit cards for greater user satisfaction.

Parkeon also developed the integration of the current contactless city card on all terminals. This city card is now used 100% as a contactless card on the same target reading device as PayWave and PayPass cards.

To meet the ambitions of the City, Parkeon implemented a Pay-by-Plate solution, configured to let motorists enter their registration plate directly on the terminal, thereby securing the parking ticket and avoiding any handing over of tickets between motorists. Parkeon accompanied its customer with this very new solution, available for the first time in Poland. In the near future, the City could easily implement new technologies, such as on-line enforcement and useful extra services for motorists.

All the parking terminals are wirelessly connected to the Parkeon web-based parking management system, providing efficient and fast reporting on financial, maintenance, collection and enforcement information. To meet the City's requirement, Parkeon supplied a SOAP interface to export data from the existing Warszawa parking environment, thus allowing it to consolidate all parking data in the same back-office.

Always at the forefront of innovation, Parkeon has supplied the City of Warszawa with the most advanced and flexible solutions in the world of urban mobility.
