Parkin to Deploy 5,000 Additional Smart Parking Cameras Across Dubai
Dubai parking operator Parkin is preparing a major expansion of its smart parking infrastructure, with 5,000 additional cameras planned for key on-street parking locations across the city.
The new cameras will be equipped with smart technology and powered by solar energy, supporting Parkin’s wider efforts to automate and digitise parking management. The rollout follows an initial phase announced earlier this year, during which approximately 1,000 smart, solar-powered cameras were installed at selected parking locations.
Alongside the camera deployment, Parkin is expanding the use of digital technology across its parking services. This includes automated payment processes across on-street parking, shopping centres and multi-storey facilities, as well as further integration between parking systems, data infrastructure and customer-facing services.
Artificial intelligence is also playing a growing role in the company’s customer service operations. According to Parkin CEO Mohamed Al Ali, the introduction of AI within the company’s 24-hour call centre has enabled 93% of incoming enquiries to be resolved by the same agent.
Parkin is simultaneously pursuing greater interoperability across the UAE parking sector. The company recently entered into a partnership with Abu Dhabi-based Q Mobility to develop an integrated digital platform connecting their respective parking services.
Expansion outside Dubai is another area of focus. Parkin has been exploring international partnerships and recently signed agreements with Modon Misr for Asset & Facility Management, Mwasalat Misr and Redcon Properties to investigate potential parking projects in Egypt.
The technology and geographic expansion comes as Parkin continues to report business growth. The company recently announced a 12% rise in net profit to AED 166.2 million, supported in part by demand for seasonal parking cards. Parkin expects activities including seasonal parking, developer-managed parking and enforcement services to contribute further to revenue during the second half of the year.
