Parking Guidance Systems, Inc. (PGS), a leader in intelligent parking technologies, has acquired ParkZen, a parking software startup based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This strategic move marks a significant step forward in PGS's mission to deliver comprehensive, real-time parking solutions across the U.S.

ParkZen, developed out of Louisiana State University, created a mobile app that simplifies the parking experience using smartphone-based technology. Unlike traditional systems that rely on hardware installations, ParkZen’s solution uses geofencing and user-sourced data to track parking availability in real time. The app not only helps drivers locate open spots more easily but also enables parking operators to manage permissions and collect payments more efficiently.

By integrating ParkZen’s software into its existing platform, PGS enhances its suite of smart parking tools, which already includes industry-leading sensor-based systems developed in partnership with INDECT GmbH. This combination aims to offer parking managers a robust, all-in-one platform that combines real-time occupancy data, user-friendly apps, and operational insights.
