ParkMap now tracks moving traffic orders

The widening use of speed limits, banned turns and other restrictions on moving traffic is being reflected in the ParkMap parking and traffic order mapping system developed by Buchanan Computing.
Under Department for Transport Circular 1/06 all local authorities need to review their speed limits on classified roads and make any necessary changes by 2011, said Buchanan Computings managing director, Simon Morgan.

The MovingOrdersMap system offers order making and schedule production functions, advertising and consultation functions, and can be used to create authority-wide speed maps that include the default limits for single and dual carriageways, as well as lit areas.

Moving?OrdersMap can be used to determine and record traffic sign locations and help identify gaps, inconsistencies and missing signs.

Once reliable data is available it can be made public, including on websites and via ISA (intelligent speed adaptation) devices in cars, pioneered by Transport for London using our software, said Morgan. And the Traffic Management Act offers the prospect of authorities enforcing many moving traffic measures.
