ParkMobile Offers a Smarter Way to Park in the City of Sarasota

ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America, announced today a new partnership with the City of Sarasota that will allow people to skip the meter and pay for parking from their mobile device. The ParkMobile app will be available at hundreds of spaces in the St. Armands Shopping District. ParkMobile is free to download and available for both iPhone and Android devices.

In the coming days, there will be new signage posted at pay stations around St. Armands district with information on how to pay for parking using the app. Auser simply enters the zone number posted on the ParkMobile sign, chooses the duration of time, and touches the “start parking” button. ParkMobile sends alerts when the parking session is about to expire so a user can extend time right from the app.

ParkMobile is widely available in Florida and has nearly 200,000 active users in major cities like Miami Beach, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Hollywood, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach.

As the City of Sarasota launches its new parking program and adds parking capacity with its new parking structure, we look to ParkMobile’s wide experience among other Florida cities as a real advantage, providing more payment options for our guests,” says Mark Lyons, City Parking Division Manager.

We are excited to expand our presence in the City of Sarasota,” says Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile. “Now, wherever you go in Florida, you can skip the meter and use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking.”
