Pay for your parking by phone in NCDC car parks
Users of NCDC car parks will now be able to pay for their parking using a mobile phone.From the 5th February, motorists will be able to pay over the phone using a credit or debit card and simply stating the code for the car park and their vehicle registration.
North Cornwall District Council is the first council in Cornwall to introduce the RingGo scheme, which has proven very successful at the First Great Western train stations across the West Country.
Cllr Linda Spear, Chair of the Community Services Committee, supports the introduction of the scheme:
We recognise that motorists may not always be carrying small change for car parking. North Cornwall is in the business of making parking easy for locals and the many visitors who use our car parks every year.
Giving people a wider choice of payment options should make life easier for everyone parking in an NCDC car park.
As well as making payment easier, the system also allows users to extend their stay without having to return to the car park. By simply calling the same number from wherever they are motorists can extend their stay and avoid risking a parking fine.
Parking charges for motorists using the RingGo system are the same, but there is a convenience charge of 20 pence to use the service.

Each day in the summer more than 4000 motorists use our car parks, so the potential benefits to locals and visitors are significant.
This new scheme will help make life easier for all car park users and is another way of helping make our coastline and towns even more attractive destinations to visit.
All NCDC car parks will have signs displaying information on how to use the new system, including the number to call to make a payment and the car park code. Calls to the service are charged at the local rate.
Regular ticket machines for motorists who prefer to pay by coin will continue to be available for use at every location.
