PayByPhone expands further in Horsham town

MORE vehicle users can now use the PayByPhone scheme in Horsham town centre as it is now available in two more car parks.

- Horsham, UK

The popular scheme, launched in May 2012, is now available at the Pavilions in the Park leisure centre car park on Hurst Road in Horsham as well as the Denne Road car park.

Horsham District Council signed a contract with PayByPhone in May to originally offer the PayByPhone scheme to users of the Piries Place and North Street car parks in the town centre.

Over 1,500 people have used the scheme since it started in Horsham town centre six months ago. Motorists are able to quickly and easily pay for their parking with just a few simple taps on their mobile phones.

There is still the option to pay via the coin payment machines for those who prefer to do so.

To use PayByPhone, customers follow a quick and simple one off registration process by phone, text message, mobile web or PayByPhone app to capture their vehicle registration and payment card details.

Donna Richardson, a PayByPhone user from Horsham, spoke about the scheme earlier this year:

"I think it’s fabulous! When I first started using a lot of the parking places around Horsham, I always had to make sure that I had change with me.

"PayByPhone made it so much easier, I just downloaded the app which was really easy on to my iPhone. And then I just then put the hours and the amount of time I’m going to be here and then I go.

"It’s so much easier than trying to dig for coins in my bag or my purse. I think it’s a great app and everyone should use it!"

Cllr Roger Paterson, Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, said:

"This is a great innovation that just made parking in Horsham so much easier!

"After the success of the new PayByPhone service at Piries Place, it’s sure to be popular in many of our other Horsham car parks, and doing away with cash payments is so much more efficient for both customers and the Council."

Service charges apply and depend on the level of parking fee. Optional texts are charged at 10p per text.

PayByPhone is the UK’s leading phone parking specialist, offering the widest and most innovative range of phone parking payments.

It works with local authority and parking operators from all over the UK and has more than 4 million registered users of the service worldwide.
