PayByPhone’s Ticket Takeover Feature Brings App-Based Payments to Almost Any Off-Street Parking Location

PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments, introduces Ticket Takeover, a new feature designed to easily offer app-based parking payments in ticketed off-street parking locations to cities and private operators.

Ticket Takeover is very easy to use. Drivers enter the off-street parking garage, take a ticket, and park. When the driver is ready to leave, they open the PayByPhone app, choose the location, scan the ticket and pay. There is no need to visit the pay station. Drivers may be required to enter the ticket at the barrier at they leave.

Donnell adds, “This feature is particularly beneficial for people who have to claim parking expenses for work. They no longer have to keep track of all those little paper tickets. Every transaction detail is saved in the app.”

Ticket Takeover has been successfully implemented in Kansas City, Missouri, at five locations since June 2026. More locations across North America are expected over the rest of 2026.

Ticket Takeover is the latest feature in PayByPhone’s off-street portfolio, following the introduction of AutoPay and Pay on Exit in 2025.
