PayByPhone Launches Reservations for Off-Street Parking

North American drivers can now search, compare, and reserve prepaid off-street parking in garages, lots, valet, and airport facilities before they travel with Reservations, a new feature from PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments. Reservations is powered by a partnership with SpotHero, a leading parking reservation marketplace in North America, with over US$2 billion in parking reservations. Reservations is launching first in three cities - Miami, Boston, and Denver.

When using Reservations, drivers see upfront pricing and can compare costs, distances, and facility amenities before they book. By reserving ahead at high-demand destinations, such as downtown commercial zones, campus areas, and major sporting events, drivers don’t have to search for a space right before a meeting or a kickoff. And because the whole transaction happens in the PayByPhone app, the experience is contactless and handled in one place.

Using Reservations is simple:

1. Search and Compare: Drivers open the PayByPhone app to search for parking near their destination, using a maps-based view to compare available options, pricing, and operating hours.
2. Book and Confirm: Drivers choose their preferred lot or garage and complete their reservation securely in-app, receiving immediate confirmation, entry instructions, and a digital parking pass.
3. Drive and Park: Upon arrival, drivers use their app-based pass or integrated license plate recognition (LPR) technology to access the facility and park.
4. Manage on the Go: Drivers can view upcoming reservations, update vehicle details, or handle eligible cancellations directly through their PayByPhone account.

Operators do not need to list their facilities with PayByPhone. Instead, off-street inventory can be made available through SpotHero's marketplace, and appear for PayByPhone drivers, giving municipal, university, and private operators another way to reach drivers without managing a separate platform.
