Q-Park Acquires Bavaria Parkgaragen

Q-Park announces the acquisition of Bavaria Parkgaragen, making it its second major acquisition in the German market this year. With this strategic move, Q-Park is consolidating its leading role in parking and urban mobility in Western Europe, and particularly in Germany.

The acquisition enables Q-Park to benefit from Bavaria Parkgaragen's long-standing experience, its attractive downtown locations in Munich, as well as its complementary locations in Berlin and other locations in Bavaria. Together, Q-Park and Bavaria Parkgaragen will further expand their commitment to sustainable mobility solutions and seamless parking services in the German regions and strengthen Q-Park as a sustainable mobility partner for cities and their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).

The joint focus includes:

  • The sustainable use of passenger cars, both in stationary and moving traffic.
  • The design of mobility hubs, including charging stations for electric vehicles.
  • The reduction of parking search traffic through digital services.
  • The preservation of livable, economically dynamic, and accessible cities.

After a comprehensive due diligence process, Q-Park has acquired 100% of the shares in Bavaria Parkgaragen. The transaction was successfully completed on June 30th.

Q-Park had already acquired ParkOne in April of this year. With the acquisition of Bavaria Parkgaragen, Q-Park is securing a strong market position in the economically strong Bavarian region.

Frank De Moor, CEO of Q-Park, explains:"The acquisition of Bavaria Parkgaragen underscores our clear growth path in Germany. Especially in Bavaria, we are creating a strong foundation to further implement our goal of sustainable and intelligent urban mobility and to work even more closely with cities and municipalities."

Frank Meyer, Managing Director of Q-Park Germany, added: "We are delighted to welcome the experienced team from Bavaria Parkgaragen to the Q-Park family. With this acquisition, we are not only strengthening our market presence in Munich and Bavaria, but also bringing our successful digital services, such as the Q-Park app and the option to book and reserve parking spaces, to these important markets. In this way, we are creating additional added value for owners, companies, municipalities, and customers in one of Germany's most economically dynamic regions."
