With the introduction of barrier-free parking in two parking garages (Kinopolis 1 & 2), Hanauer Parkhaus GmbH embarked on a journey into the future of parking in 2024. However, the absence of physical barriers creates a new risk: some users might test the system or forget to pay.
For HPG, this meant:
- Potential revenue losses due to non-payers
- High manual effort required to track open parking transactions
- Lack of internal know-how for identifying vehicle owners
Previously, the company relied on classic parking garages with barrier operation – a system that works reliably, but significantly limits digital transformation and the desired user experience.
HPG quickly realized that for the free-flow concept to work, the payment processes had to be equally modern, efficient, and legally compliant. This required an experienced partner who could integrate and automate receivables management from the outset.

Together with Riverty, HPG developed a fully integrated receivables management system that is seamlessly integrated into the parking system.
Open parking transactions are automatically transmitted to Riverty via Skidata's API interface – including vehicle registration number and payment status.
This ensures the economic viability of free-flow parking from the outset.

Based on these successes, HPG also converted the Nürnberger Straße parking garage to free-flow parking with Riverty in August 2025 – further projects are already in the planning stages.
