San Diego International Airport has expanded its parking capacity with the addition of 2,400 new spaces, following the opening of the second phase of the Terminal 1 parking facility.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the airport’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the passenger experience. The parking expansion is part of a broader $3.8 billion redevelopment of Terminal 1, which aims to enhance airport infrastructure and accommodate growing travel demand.

The next major phase of the project is scheduled to open in September and will introduce 19 new gates. Once the entire project is complete in 2028, the terminal will feature a total of 30 new gates, significantly boosting the airport’s capacity and functionality.
