Chicago O’Hare Airport Selects Scheidt & Bachmann for Major Parking Payment Upgrade

One of the busiest airports in the U.S. hires Scheidt & Bachman to upgrade its parking access and revenue control system.

Scheidt & Bachmann was recently awarded the contract to update the parking access and revenue control system at one of the world’s busiest airports, Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The installation phase of the project will commence in February 2014 and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

With the deployment of new hardware and Scheidt & Bachmann’s entervo V2R3 software solution, the airport expects to improve the customer experience, provide additional payment options, and increase traffic flow throughput. Basic upgrade improvements to the Airport’s parking system will include installation of 23 entry lanes, 27 exit cashier devices, and 16 barrier-free pay on foot stations. Enhancements to the parking operation include License Plate Recognition (LPR), a Frequent Parker Program, mobile license plate inventory, the ability for customers to reserve and prepay for their parking and some level of automation with the use of pay on foot machines and express exit lanes.

”We are very excited at the opportunity to partner with the Chicago Department of Aviation.” says Jeff Sparrow, Vice President of Sales for Scheidt & Bachmann USA. “Scheidt & Bachmann’s ability to collaborate with large organizations on complex parking projects will be a tremendous asset on this project and we look forward to exceeding the expectations of the CDA and the City of Chicago.”
