Scheidt & Bachmann offers smart, customised solutions for customers in France, too

Scheidt & Bachmann

Numerous French car park operators are opting for entervo by Scheidt & Bachmann: the open system platform for car park management with its universal interfaces offers numerous possibilities and options for innovative, future-oriented solutions. As a result it is possible to respond flexibly to customer demands.

In close collaboration with car park operators, Scheidt & Bachmann France has developed a range of innovative solutions and positioned itself as the leading provider for many customers in the French market.

At Nantes airport motorists can drive in and out conveniently using the Liber-t-Tag they otherwise use at toll stations in France. This means no ticket has to be issued, so payment at an automatic pay station is not necessary either! Payment is convenient and simple via the same payment method used for the Liber-t-Tag.

In this way, parking has increasingly become a component of the mobility chain. Due to the high volume of inner-city traffic, as well as growing environmental awareness, many commuters who live in the city outskirts are switching to using public transport. This is reflected in the intense use of Park&Ride facilities. In order to meet the rising demand in this area, more and more car parks are being set up at attractive transfer points.

In collaboration with Transdev, a global private-sector leader in the area of public transport, Scheidt & Bachmann has developed a special Park&Ride concept in Toulon: a link has been created between parking and the use of public transportation so as to provide an incentive for combined use. If a motorist parks at the P&R car park, they can use the bus/tram ticket to obtain a discount on charges. Service staff or passengers who hold a subscription can use the P&R card as a season parking ticket.

This Park&Ride concept has gone down very well in Toulon, and is an exemplary model for other cities.

There is currently a range of new developments entering the market in the field of parking: it is now possible to book a parking space in advance online, for example: the QR code is then sent to the user’s smartphone and can be used as the admission ticket. It is also possible to pay by app.

There is no question that all these solutions are innovative and are advantageous and beneficial to both operators and motorists. But: motorists who do not have a regular car park but use different car parks in a city can easily lose track of things.

In Metz the response to this challenge is the MobiWoom card - a genuine all-rounder: users sign up with MobiWoom, enter their credit card details for payment purposes and receive a personalised MobiWoom RFID card which can be used as a ticket for various services. This applies especially to car parks fitted with entervo by Scheidt & Bachmann! The increased ticketless use of car parks means that operators have to provide fewer paper tickets at the entrance. Not only is this good for the environment, it also extends the service life of the control equipment since ticket processing components suffer less wear and tear. In addition to convenient entry and exit, car park users no longer have to use an automatic pay station. And since the new payment methods mean there is less cash in the pay stations, they are less prone to break-ins.

These examples illustrate the flexible options provided by entervo as an open system platform. The universal interfaces allow smart integration of the car park management system in existing IT structures, making it an integral component of concepts throughout the sector. This is an impressive demonstration of Scheidt & Bachmann’s leading innovative role.
