Scheidt & Bachmann provides equipment to the car park area of Terminal B3 of Cairo Airport (Egypt)

The car park area for the new terminal B3 of Cairo International Airport (Egypt) will be equipped with a car park management system from Scheidt & Bachmann.
It is expected that the equipment for a total of 87 entry and exit lanes will be installed and started for operation by November this year. According to the customers request, collection of the parking fee will take place directly at the exits. This is another project where highest stakes are set to maintaining the security standards of international airports.

Another specialty is the operation of the Overflow Parking System. For the so-called parking on the green meadow, i.e. a parking area without any barrier, the guest receives a barcode ticket from the operator, when arriving at the entry. The ticket is printed by means of a handheld unit, connected with a printer via Bluetooth. When leaving the area, the ticket is checked by a barcode scanner and the tariff is determined. The guest may leave the area after paying the parking fee. At the end of the working day, the handheld units can be connected to a docking station, to permit data exchange with the central server. Shift and movement data can be read into the central database, and the handheld unit can receive potential adaptations in terms of operator and tariff data.

Scheidt & Bachmann implements the latest technology and applies it to this project: The core of the car park management system is a server system that is characterized by high availability and straightforward handling in terms of operation, maintenance and installation. To name just one of the many benefits of the server system: The availability of the management system is ensured by the redundancy of the server system, by two motherboards in the same housing. Replicating hardware components, i.e. developing an exact copy and avoiding errors, process the same instructions at the same time. In the event of a component malfunction, the partner component will resume its functions as an active redundancy, so permitting a smooth and reliable execution of the processes free from interruptions.
