Smart City System: Designing Joint Smart Parking Solutions

Together with ght GmbH Elektronik im Verkehr, we implemented a barrier-free Freeflow solution in Schwabach and thus showed what our partnership can achieve.

ght has many years of experience in the municipal environment and is deeply rooted in many cities as a partner of public authorities for cash register systems as well as parking ticket machines and classic parking systems. This network and trust, combined with our digital solution, enables cities to take a step that they could not take on their own.

In Schwabach, we have put exactly this into practice together and created a fully digitized entrance and exit without barriers and without traffic jams, which simplifies everyday life for operators and users alike. With the ght service team, the implementation on site was also in good hands from the very beginning.

About Smart City System

Smart City System is a start up from the metropolitan region of Nuremberg that deals with the digitization of parking areas with the help of sensors. Founded in 2017 by five students, we've rapidly grown and already installed more than 45,000 sensors throughout Germany and other European countries.

We digitize parking areas with the help of sensor technology to improve the search for, management and use of parking spaces in cities. In this way we want to reduce parking pressure in city centres and thus also traffic. After all, 30% of inner-city traffic is caused solely by the search for parking space. With our solution, we want to reduce traffic, the stress of citizens and, ultimately, harmful emissions in the city centre.
