Tallinn Airport Upgrades Parking Arrangements for a Smoother Passenger Journey

The airport’s existing parking technology will be replaced gradually over the coming months.

Tallinn Airport will overhaul its parking arrangements over the coming months, introducing ticketless parking, automatic number plate recognition, advance parking reservations and new payment options.

The changes are an important part of improving the overall passenger journey, making arrival at and departure from the airport quicker, easier and more convenient.

Under the new arrangements, vehicles’ registration numbers will be recognised automatically as they enter the car park. Drivers will no longer need to collect or retain a paper ticket, and their registration number will also be used when exiting the car park.

Making travel easier does not begin at the terminal door, but from the moment passengers start planning their journey to the airport. The new parking system will eliminate unnecessary steps and provide passengers with a quicker and more convenient service,

said Richard Puustusmaa, Mobility Services Manager at Tallinn Airport, commenting on the expected benefits of the changes.

Once the new system is in place, parking can be paid for cashless, quickly and conveniently online by scanning a QR code, at the exit by card without leaving the vehicle, or at card payment machines located in the parking areas. The option to reserve a parking space online in advance will be introduced at a later stage.

What is changing at Tallinn Airport’s car parks?

  • Ticketless parking based on automatic number plate recognition will be introduced.
  • Paper tickets will no longer be required when entering or leaving the car park, making the process quicker and more convenient.
  • Parking can be paid for online by scanning a QR code, at the exit by card without leaving the vehicle, or at payment machines.
  • The option to reserve a parking space online in advance will be introduced at a later stage.

The new platform also creates opportunities to introduce dynamic pricing, allowing us to better manage demand and capacity while offering passengers more flexibility when planning their trip.

Parking pre-booking will become part of a broader digital travel experience. In addition to reserving a parking space, passengers will be able to purchase airport services such as Fast Track and Business Lounge access in a single booking journey.

The new solution will also support new digital services for taxis, ride-hailing and car-sharing, bringing different ways of getting to and from the airport into a more connected experience.

Bringing parking, payment and different mobility services together into one integrated digital solution is something that has not been done in Estonia before.

The airport’s existing parking technology will be replaced gradually over the coming months.

New parking system delivered in partnership with Hansab Estonia

Hansab Estonia will supply and implement Tallinn Airport’s new parking solution. The Entringo parking management system being introduced at the airport has been designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Estonia.

The new technology brings automatic number plate recognition, ticketless parking and cashless payment options together in one integrated solution. It will replace the airport’s existing parking technology in phases over the coming months.

It is a privilege for Hansab to deliver a solution for one of Estonia’s most important international gateways. Together with Tallinn Airport, we are implementing a reliable, future-ready parking system that will serve hundreds of thousands of passengers every year,

said Kristo Kaljuvee, Field Manager at Hansab Estonia.
