The British Parking Association Supports Call to Standardise Parking Regulations
The British Parking Association (BPA) fully supports Lord Lucas in his address to the Local Authority Parking and Traffic Regimes Debate in the House of Lords.
The BPA encourages any movement towards defining penalty charge notices by statute in order to standardise parking enforcement across the UK.
Better communication between adjudicators, and standard forms of ticketing in all local authority areas, are measures which would go a long way to creating a fairer parking environment.
The BPA is also very pleased that Baroness Scott referred to the BPA Model Contract for Parking Enforcement which supports effective and fair outsourcing of parking management.
The parking industry aims to ensure best practice, within current legislation, and a call to action for improvements across the country brings us closer to providing an even higher level of service to motorists. Patrick Troy, chief executive of the BPA said: The BPA is strongly committed to encouraging a high level of service across the parking sector. It is essential for everyone within parking to work together to ensure consistency and fairness in parking management.
The BPA focuses strongly on professional development and improvement across the sector and believes it is now time for all the stakeholders to come together at a Parking Summit, during 2009. This meeting will allow members to engage in meaningful dialogue about the application of common sense, to improve communications between them and devise practical methods of working which enable fairer parking management for everyone.
