TRILUX: Heidenheim Trainees Install LiveLink SwarmSens

With LiveLink SwarmSens, TRILUX has created a simple plug and play system for smart lighting in parking garages. The solution convinced the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - Unternehmensgruppe: The parking garage under the Congress Centrum was refurbished 1:1 with Aragon Fit and LiveLink SwarmSens. A special feature: after a short training course, the trainee electricians from the town of Heidenheim carried out the retrofit completely on their own.

Made to make parking garage refurbishment easy

LiveLink SwarmSens is unique due to its simple installation. The sensors required for lighting control are already integrated into the luminaires, the networking is done wireless by radio. The lighting can then be configured quickly and easily via the LiveLink SwarmSens app – and the smart function “pre-running light” can be activated with just a few clicks. Particularly practical: if required, functions, such as light intensity, basic light level, threshold values, and activation duration, can also be set directly on the SwarmSens controller in the luminaire. LiveLink SwarmSens can control up to 4,069 light points.

Old goes smart with no effort

Too dark, too inefficient, too many failures: Because the existing lighting in the Heidenheim Congress Center parking garage was outdated in terms of energy efficiency, quality and functionality, the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - Unternehmensgruppe was looking for a refurbishment partner for the 450 light points. TRILUX impressed with a lighting concept based on Aragon Fit luminaires and the LiveLink SwarmSens light management system. One of the decisive factors in favor of SwarmSens was the ease of installation. After the trainees had been briefly instructed in the system at TRILUX in Arnsberg, they gradually took over the conversion during ongoing operations.

More efficiency, light quality, and knowledge

The refurbishment reduces energy costs for lighting by up to 85 percent compared to the existing lighting. In addition, the quality of light and atmosphere in the garage have improved significantly due to the Aragon Fit luminaires. The translucent diffuser and housing, as well as wide-angle optics brighten the ceiling by up to eight percent and counteracts the typical cave effect. The trainees also benefit from the unique project. Since January 2025, the subject of lighting management has been part of the training for electronics technicians in accordance with the professional regulations for certain disciplines. And the trainees in Heidenheim have demonstrated their theoretical and practical expertise with the parking garage renovation.
