Two Carl Walker, Inc. projects win awards at the 2009 International Parking Institute (IPI) Conference and Expo
Carl Walker, Inc. is pleased to announce the selection of two of the companys projects as award winners at the 2009 International Parking Institute (IPI) Conference and Expo.
The Detroit Metropolitan Airport Blue Deck was chosen for an Award of Excellence in the Restoration Category. The Blue Deck structure provides parking for 5,500 cars at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Carl Walker served as Restoration Engineer/Prime Consultant. Other members of the project team included Berbiglia Associates, Inc. (Electrical Engineer), Sellinger Associates, Inc. (Mechanical Engineer), and RAM Construction (Contractor).
The Grand River Avenue Parking Structure was awarded an Honorable Mention in the New Projects Category. The parking structure is located on the East Lansing campus of Michigan State University and features six levels, two elevators, three stair towers and parking for 730 vehicles. Carl Walker served as Structural Engineer/Parking Consultant on the project and other team members included Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber Architects(Architects), and Granger Construction (Contractor).
