Vilnius Launches Unified App for Public Transport, Parking and Trip Planning

- Vilnius, Lithuania
The new JUDU app brings parking payments, public transport tickets, journey planning and cycling routes into a single mobility platform.

Vilnius has launched a new mobility application that combines public transport, parking and journey planning in a single platform.

The JUDU app allows users to purchase public transport tickets, pay for parking, plan journeys and find cycling routes across the Lithuanian capital. It is set to replace the city's existing m.Ticket and m.Parking apps, which will be discontinued by the end of October.

For drivers, the app supports parking management for multiple vehicles and sends notifications when a paid parking session is close to ending. Public transport users can buy tickets without a minimum purchase amount and access real-time travel information for journey planning.

Cyclists can also use the platform to plan routes using both dedicated cycling infrastructure and shared roads. The app supports Apple Pay and Google Pay for payments.

The development of JUDU took around two years and cost approximately €100,000. Around 70% of the app was developed internally, with the remaining work carried out by external partners.

Since launching in early July, the app has attracted around 68,000 users. Vilnius expects this number to rise to approximately 150,000 by the end of October, when the older mobility applications are phased out.

By bringing several transport services together in one digital platform, Vilnius is aiming to make everyday travel and parking simpler for residents and visitors.
