Wilbur Smith Associates Wins Downtown Los Angeles Parking Management Ordinance Implementation Project

The project will update and revamp the policies which govern the provision and the management of parking in the diverse sub-districts and communities that make up Downtown Los Angeles. This will be the first comprehensive examination of parking management since the Peripheral Parking Policy was adopted in the 1980's.

WSA will assess parking, land use, economic and transportation issues in the downtown. The study will be community based and stakeholder driven, while providing a sound technical basis for the development of new parking management policies and programs. WSA will study these parking issues to ensure economic vitality, traffic reduction, increased transit use, and sensitivity to quality of life issues in Downtown Los Angeles.

William Hurrell, P.E. of WSA will serve as Project Manager. Mr. Hurrell is a noted specialist in Parking Management and was named Parking Professional of the Year by the California Public Parking Association. The project is expected to be completed in 14 months.
