In the Spotlight with Joyce de Winter, Director of Intertraffic Worldwide Events

In today's blog, we feature an In the Spotlight interview with Joyce de Winter, Director of Intertraffic Worldwide Events.

As the mobility and traffic technology landscape continues to evolve, Intertraffic Amsterdam remains a key meeting point for innovation across connected industries. In this edition of In the Spotlight, we sat down with Joyce de Winter, Director of Intertraffic Worldwide Events, to discuss how the event has evolved, what visitors can expect from its largest edition to date, and why themes such as AI, robotics, and cross-sector collaboration are increasingly shaping the future of mobility.

Q: Intertraffic Amsterdam is coming up very soon. How are things shaping up as we get closer to March?

Joyce de Winter:

Intertraffic is really just around the corner. We are hosting the show in March this year, and it is going to be the biggest edition ever.

To briefly explain what Intertraffic is about: Intertraffic Amsterdam is the leading global event focused on advanced traffic technology and mobility solutions. We cover a wide range of segments, including infrastructure, traffic management, road safety, and parking solutions.

For the upcoming edition, we expect more than 900 exhibitors from a broad mix of public and private organisations. The event will span 12 halls and welcome around 30,000 visitors from 140 countries.

One of the main themes we will be introducing throughout the entire event is the influence of AI and robotics on mobility.

Q: Why was it important to bring AI and robotics to the forefront this year?

Joyce de Winter:

What we see, through our global partners, our events in Mexico and China, and our advisory board, is that AI and robotics are increasingly becoming part of our industry.

For some people, this topic can still feel unfamiliar. However, it is important for us as Intertraffic to bring this subject to our audience, because it will become part of daily operations and everyday life.

We would like to bring that, to the floor, to our Congress Program and open stages, covering all disciplines represented at the event.

Q: What can visitors expect from the programme across the different segments?

Joyce de Winter:

In previous editions, we had a large summit programme focused on global solutions. This year, we have added four open stages directly on the segment floors.

For example, we have the Infra Stage, developed in partnership with the Global Highways Organisation. There is a Road Safety Stage in collaboration with the International Road Federation. We also have the Parking Stage, which is organised in collaboration with Parking Network. As well there is the Next Mobility Stage, which focuses on future and emerging solutions such as micromobility, autonomous mobility, and air mobility.

We have grown from four stages to seven. We really made the change in presenting sessions towards the audience.

Q: With all the halls and segments being covered, what would you recommend to visitors and exhibitors to make the most of such a large event?

Joyce de Winter:

I would advise to use the Intertraffic Connect application, which is already available for download. Through the app, visitors can easily connect with others, use matchmaking features, see who is exhibiting, and find out who will be speaking in the summit programme or on the open stages.

It's really good to use the app to prepare your visits and make the most of it for the most efficient visit to Intertraffic.

Q: As a final thought, is there anything else you would like to share with potential visitors and exhibitors?

Joyce de Winter:

From a Parking Network perspective, we would like to invite the Parking Network community to be part of Intertraffic Amsterdam. We encourage them to explore the Parking Stage, which is powered by Parking Network, and to meet the leading exhibitors.

I recommend using the event planner, as it helps participants make the most of the four days, both in terms of learning and networking.

One additional thing I would like to mention is the atmosphere at Intertraffic Amsterdam, which is made thanks to both the team and the audience. And it is always a pleasure to see and meet everyone.
