During my visit to see Assured Technologies’ solutions in action at Munich Airport, Haakon Holm and Mert Gemerekli guided me through a fully operational rental return ecosystem operated by Assured Europe. What stood out immediately is how structured and integrated the entire flow is.

The full cycle – from vehicle return to ready-for-rent– takes less than 60 minutes outside of peak hours, and even then everything is processed a lot quicker than the traditional airport model that requires vehicles to be driven off-site and back for preparation.

Vehicles enter through a clearly defined return tunnel and drive directly into the inspection lane. The infrastructure ensures continuous inflow and immediate process integration.
2. Automated Damage Detection – Powered by Wenn ASA
The drive-through scanning frame captures high-resolution images automatically. Using Wenn ASA’s scanner, damage is detected at pixel precision and documented instantly, supports manual inspections and creates transparency in the documentation.
3. Digital Workflow Control
All inspection data flows directly into the operational GO-MOVE platform. The system manages vehicle identification, damage classification, routing, and status tracking in a structured workflow.
4. Live Multi-Brand Return Environment
Munich Airport operates a consolidated rental return structure serving multiple brands. Automation ensures standardization and consistency across every vehicle.
5. Cleaning & Servicing – Parallel Processing
After scanning, vehicles are routed into cleaning and servicing zones. Fuel, exterior wash, interior cleaning, and technical checks run in parallel on moving conveyor belts to compress turnaround time.
6. Workshop & Preparation
Vehicles requiring extra attention are routed efficiently to workshop areas. Digital documentation prevents double handling and accelerates decisions.
7. Operational Discussion & Oversight
Process transparency allows operational teams to maintain control and optimize flow.
8. Ready-to-Rent Positioning
After cleaning and clearance, vehicles are moved into ready-for-rent zones. The full return-to-ready cycle typically takes less than 60 minute, outside the peaktimes.
