Embedded Software Engineer for Robotics (Paris, FR)

Stanley Robotics

Job description

Robots that move cars. For real, every day.

At Stanley Robotics, our autonomous robots lift and move cars in airport parking lots and automotive logistics sites. These aren't lab prototypes: they operate in real-world conditions, with real customers and real vehicles.

We are expanding our embedded software team for the robot and are looking for two engineers eager to see their code in action and learn quickly alongside us. Stanley Robotics is part of the Korean HL Group, which opens up professional exchange opportunities beyond our borders.

Desired profile

Robots that move cars. For real, every day.

At Stanley Robotics, our autonomous robots lift and move cars in airport parking lots and automotive logistics centers. These aren't lab prototypes: they operate in real-world conditions, with actual customers and real vehicles.
We're expanding our embedded software team and are looking for two engineers eager to see their code in action and learn quickly alongside us. Stanley Robotics is part of the Korean HL Group, which opens up opportunities for professional exchanges beyond our borders.

What you will do

  • Develop and evolve the robot's embedded functions: environmental perception, safety functions, real-time.
  • Designing clean, testable and robust code on a system where safety is not an option.
  • Integrate and develop the robot's sensors, and contribute to the evolution of its perception system, in conjunction with the embedded and safety teams.
  • Validate your work: unit tests, replay of real data, simulation.
  • On-site visits: data acquisition, robot debugging, support for test campaigns.
  • Participate in the modernization of our stack (migration to ROS 2).
  • Depending on your preferences, expand your scope to include the robot's location, navigation, or behavior.

What we expect from you

  • At least 3 years of experience in robotics, autonomous vehicle or embedded software development.
  • A true mastery of modern C++ and Linux.
  • An experiment of ROS / ROS 2.
  • A taste for the field and concrete problems: when the robot doesn't do what you expect, you want to understand why.
  • Autonomy, curiosity and energy: in a small team, everyone counts.
  • Comfortable with AI-assisted development tools.
  • Fluent English. French is an asset (the team works in both languages).

Why join us?

  • A product unique in the world: Designed by us (hardware & software) and deployed at clients' sites in real-world operation.
  • A direct impact: your code goes to robots in operation.
  • The opening of an international group: opportunities to exchange with the HL Robotics teams in South Korea, and occasional possible international trips.
  • A human-sized team, where you learn quickly and take on responsibilities early.
  • Technical proximity: No silos between software and hardware: we test, adjust and develop the robot together.
