Astron Buildings: La Garde’s Eco-Friendly Car Park Moves Ahead

In La Garde, close to Marseille, France, the City has contracted Astron Mobility with the design, production, and construction of a sustainable, user-oriented multi-storey car park as part of its downtown renaturation plan.

Mayor Hélène Arnaud-Bill, accompanied by her municipal team and Jean-Louis Masson, President of the Department, visited the jobsite. The visit highlighted the technical solutions of this construction.

"It’s important to see projects taking shape and to discuss progress with all stakeholders. Together, we’re working to improve our living environment,”

said Mayor Arnaud-Bill. “This is a next-generation car park,” she added. “Built with a ventilated steel superstructure, it’s lighter, more cost-effective, and less polluting than a 100% concrete building.”

Scheduled for delivery in five months, this 216-space free car park facility reflects our the vision of future-ready urban mobility:

Responsible Construction:

• Ventilated steel superstructure – lighter and with a lower carbon footprint than traditional concrete
• Contemporary façades and solar panels to be installed in August
• Minimized footprint to preserve the future 1.5-hectare urban park

Designed for Tomorrow’s Mobility:

• 11 EV charging stations (including one accessible for people with reduced mobility)
• 6 PMR spaces located at ground level
• 18 motorcycle spaces and a large, secure bike area
