First Foundation Stone Laid for New Parking Garage at Amersfoort Zoo
Ballast Nedam Parking has officially started with the construction of a parking garage for Amersfoort Zoo. The first foundation stone was laid by Ms. Vis, daughter of the founder, and Niels van Dalen of Ballast Nedam Parking.
Construction of the new garage is necessary, as the current parking spaces will be removed due to construction of the western ring road between the Stichtse roundabout and the Amsterdamseweg in Amersfoort.
As Amersfoort Zoo and Ballast Nedam Parking have succeeded in recycling a large part of a temporary garage at Reinier de Graaf Hospital, Delft, the journey has come full circle. Ballast Nedam Parking, with its ModuPark® concept, once again shows a nice in-house circular product which fits into the current market.
ModuPark® is the solution of Ballast Nedam Parking to meet the need for temporary parking capacity. User-friendly parking garages can be realized with prefab elements. In just a few months the robust construction is there and that construction is so robust that long-term use is also possible.
Thanks to the responsible use of materials, we are making a substantial contribution to a circular economy with ModuPark®. This means that the project meets sustainability objectives more quickly.
ModuPark® is fully demountable and reusable. Upon disassembly there is virtually no residual waste, apart from some sealants. All other parts, except the foundation, are reused. That is only sustainable dealing with our chosen building materials! We also pick up everything afterwards so that the client receives a clean site.
