Extension of Schiphol P3 Long-Term Parking Completed as Planned
In just eleven months, Ballast Nedam Parking has extended the parking garage Schiphol. The P3 parking garage was able to accommodate a total of 2650 cars and with the extension, the number has risen to more than 5000 parking places. This means that the P3 parking garage including the extension now has a total of 100,000 m2 of parking space and is, therefore, the largest above-ground car park in the Netherlands.
The car park is also equipped with new cladding, roof construction, and façade lighting. With all the adjustments, the car park has a sleek appearance with a yellow entrance as the eye-catcher. The project was completed according to plan, this once again proofs that working with construction partners works. They have been involved in the project from the very start. In consultation with the construction partners, the building sequence was determined at an early stage. Only through this working method is it possible to build quickly and completely the garage in accordance with the agreed schedule.
The number of passengers traveling via Schiphol continues to rise. In 2018, around 71 million travelers flew via Schiphol. Due to the growth in the number of passengers, the demand for parking space is also increasing at the airport. By making more covered parking spaces available, Schiphol increases parking convenience and comfort on P3 long parking for both private and business travelers.
